Welcome to Red Tiles Holiday Cottage set in rolling pastures in rural Somerset. The barn, named after its red tiled roof, lies about a mile from Evercreech, on the outskirts of the farming hamlet of Stoney Stratton. The barn dates back to the end of the 19th century when it was originally used as a milking barn. Our family have owned it since it was built. Recently renovated by an award winning architect, it retains much of its original character, whilst providing a high level of comfort. Red Tiles Barn Holiday Cottage is equipped to accommodate four people and an infant.

The area is very rural, predominantly dairy farming, with rolling hills and rich pasture all around. Lying near the southern edge of the Mendip Hills, Stoney Stratton is within an easy drive of many significant attractions. Wells, Glastonbury, the Mendips, the Somerset levels and Longleat are all close by, whilst Bath, Bristol, the Somerset coast and a number of National Trust properties are within an hours drive. The Royal Bath and West Showground is only two miles away. Our splendid location means that there are many local footpaths and lovely walks right on our doorstep. The village of Evercreech has a minimart, newsagent, post office, bakers, video rental, doctor's surgery, chemist, fish and chip shop, pubs and a church. Supermarkets and larger shops are in Shepton Mallet about 4 miles away.

Rooms Description

Our barn sleeps four adults/children and one infant. Downstairs is an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area, bathroom with bath and overhead electric shower. It is tiled throughout with under-floor heating. Upstairs houses a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with original beams. A folding cot is provided along with a high chair and a safety gate for the stairs. The barn is reasonably child proof (we have children ourselves) and is set on it's own acre of land and is adjacent to a quiet country lane. Red Tiles is equipped with a colour TV/VCR, microwave, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, radio/CD player, hairdryer, a selection of books and maps on the local area, a selection of fiction books and a selection of table games, videos and puzzles.

Specialities

We regret that pets are not permitted. The rent is inclusive of heat, light, electricity and linen. Towels are extra. We have off road parking space for 2 cars. No smoking within the barn please.
