One mile from the historic village of Muchelney (meaning 'great island'), our scenic park is perfect for touring the Somerset Levels and Moors. We have two well stocked fishing lakes onsite with a selection of course fish including large carp, making us the ideal location for a fishing holiday, or just a relaxing family holiday, to the Somerset Levels. Our superb level pitches are set in picturesque cider orchard and the site has easy road access for tourers. We are 3 miles from market town of Langport for shopping & local amenities and 1½ miles to local pub with excellent food.
Thorney Lakes and Caravan Park is a family run business established in 1993. The setting attracts a host of wildlife and regularly visited by otters, badgers, rabbits, deer and 70 species of birdlife (RSPB survey), including kingfishers nesting on site. Just a short level walk, from the caravan park, the two miles of nature trails are perfect for a short stroll or to enjoy a chat with the local fisher folk about the 'one that got away'! There is ample parking, a thatched shelter and access for the less able. Our traditional beef and cereal farm has earned the 'Somerset Otter' award for conservation and we pride ourselves in taking good care of this picturesque landscape.

We have typical and large pitches available. There are modern toilet and shower facilities onsite.
Specialities
We have won the David Bellamy 'Gold Award' for 5 consecutive years. Wireless Internet access is available and dogs are welcome on the site. Stabling and grazing are also available. We have Excellent sunrises and sunsets with low light pollution at night. Booking is advisable.

Directions
From the M5: Leave at Junction 25 and take the A358 Langport/Ilminster Road. Continue through Henlade up the dual carriageway. At the traffic lights at the top of the hill, turn left towards Langport. Continue through Wrantage and Fivehead, then on to Curry Rivel (approximately 7 miles). Go past the garage in Curry Rivel. Take the next right turning to Muchelney and Drayton. Continuet through Drayton, then carry straight on, over the river bridge. Muchelney Abbey is now in front of you. Bear right at the church, towards Muchelney Pottery, then continue through the village of Muchelney. Go past the pottery on the left. Thorney Lakes and Caravan Park is opposite some white cottages, on the left hand side of the road.
