Minehead is a traditional seaside town on the Bristol Channel, with lovely views across the sea to Wales . It provides an ideal base for all types of holiday, either a peaceful relaxing break, or a more active holiday. From Minehead, visitors have easy access to all parts of Exmoor and the surrounding area, including the stunning North Devon coastline, the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth, and Clovelly further down towards Cornwall. The town itself has many attractions, including a long seafront promenade which is lit up at night, a picturesque harbour, a wide sandy beach, a golf course, and many attractive shops and restaurants. Other attractions close to Minehead include the Tropiquaria animal and adventure park near Washford, Dunster village with the famous National Trust owned Dunster Castle, and Cleeve Abbey, owned by English Heritage.
