Self catering holiday cottages occupying a stunning location overlooking Withypool village in the heart of Exmoor National Park, West Somerset

Westerclose Holiday Cottages on Exmoor consist of four self catering cottages and one self catering apartment in the heart of the National Park in West Somerset. The cottages are arranged around their own car park in the grounds of Westerclose House, overlooking the village of Withypool. There are no immediate neighbours yet the village inn/restaurant and shop are only 300 metres down the lane. Withypool is an excellent location for a walking holiday and the wooded Barle Valley has excellent paths along the riverside. We provide a transport service so that walkers can do linear walks.

Each cottage has its own, fenced garden with picnic table on the lawn and super views along Pennycombe or down the oak ­ wooded Barle valley. The cottages all have log-burners and double glazing (logs are inclusive from Oct-May), so they are warm and cosy throughout the year. Our apartment has simply spectacular views, its own garden area and like the cottages is private and cosy. They all have modern fitted kitchens and the soft-furnishings were hand-made. Hot water is inclusive and the cold water is pure natural spring water from our own source.

Rooms Description

Pennycombe Cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms. Bantnam Cottage sleeps five in three bedrooms. Nethergate Bungalow sleeps three in two bedrooms. Stable Bungalow sleeps two in one double bedroom. Heather View sleeps two in a one bedroom apartment. We have twin-bed en-suite bedrooms available in Westerclose House with completely separate outside access which you can rent in addition to your cottage or apartment. This may suit guests holidaying in particular in Nethergate or Pennycombe cottages or in Heather View as they have larger dining areas. Do contact us should this be of interest.

Specialities

Each cottage has broadband internet access. We welcome well behaved dogs and have a dog walk. We have 3 large stable boxes with internal corridor, tack room etc., and 3 large turnout paddocks next to the cottages which are available on a DIY livery basis for those who want to bring their own horses. There is excellent hacking available directly from our yard. Horses can be hired locally by the hour or day - we can advise on suitable stables.
