Pear Tree is a VisitBritain 3 Star rated B&B situated in the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to Taunton in a beautiful rural corner of Somerset. Pear Tree is ideally placed for touring the South West and the south coast, with Sidmouth, Seaton and Lyme Regis, just forty minutes away. The north coast is just an hour away resorts such as Minehead, Watchet and Porlock are within easy reach for a day trip. The English Riviera resort of Torbay in Devon is an acceptable drive at approx 90 mins as is the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall at a little over 2 hours. Somerset, Devon and Dorset are steeped in history and abound in hidden gems not least numerous National Trust properties and gardens and of course the Jurassic Coast.

Pear Tree B&B is a thatched cottage, cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. There is oil fired central heating in all rooms supplemented by a solid fuel stove in the dining room. If you want an out of season holiday or short break you won't be cold or uncomfortable here at Pear Tree whatever the weather. The cottage has a traditional colourful border garden with croquet lawn and kitchen garden, providing some seasonal vegetables. There is also a large conservatory/garden room and a separate summer house available for relaxation and almost al fresco meals if preferred.

Pear Tree B&B offers a family suite, double and single room. All rooms are en suite with a TV with DVD and tea & coffee making facilities. All bedrooms boast lovely views of the garden and beyond. Cots and a high chair are available.

Specialities

Smaller well behaved dogs are welcomed. Children are welcomed too and have free run of the grounds subject to parents overseeing safety and as long as they are as well behaved as the dogs usually are! We have been planting trees in our 2.55 acres Arboretum since 1990 and most are well established beauties now and with a backdrop of rising ground towards the Devon Border the view is wonderful especially in the Autumn.
