A small quiet, adults only caravan and camping site in an unspoilt countryside location on the Devon and Somerset border, close Exmoor National Park

Lowtross Cross is a small, friendly adults only caravan and camping site set in four acres of unspoilt countryside on the border of both Devon and Somerset, close to Exmoor National Park. The park enjoys an idyllic rural setting just one mile north of Upton village and provides an ideal base for touring the beautiful South West of England. The surrounding area is perfect for walking, fishing, cycling and riding and there are a great many attractions within easy reach of the park. These include Dunster, with its medieval castle, Tarr Steps, Dunkery Beacon, Porlock, Minehead and The West Somerset Steam Railway.

Nearby Wimbleball Lake is overlooked by Haddon Hill, a piece of Heathland with its own herd of Exmoor ponies. The lake can be reached by five minute drive or twenty minute walk through St John's Wood, where you may be lucky enough to spot red or roe deer. Fly fishing is available at the lake or on nearby Clatworthy Reservoir and we have freezer facilities available for your catch. Should you prefer to spend time on the water, sailing and other watersports are also available at the lake.

Rooms Description

Lowtrow Cross also offers self catering in two well equipped static holiday caravans and adjacent to the site is a traditional Exmoor Inn. We cater for caravans, motor homes, trailer tents and tents. Hard standing pitches are available with electric hook ups and TV points. Facilities available on site include a heated shower and toilet block, small laundry, dishwashing facilities and free use of microwave and freezer.

There is no games room or entertainment here, we are however, only too happy to show you the numerous walks and attractions on our doorstep, so you too can share and appreciate our lovely county. Children under the age of sixteen years are not allowed on site.
