Two self catering cottages on a lovingly renovated 14th Century farm set beneath Glastonbury Tor in the Somerset countryside, an idyllic holiday retreat.

Old Farm is a unique medieval hall house standing in ten acres of unspoilt Somerset countryside beneath Glastonbury Tor. Old Farm was built in the 14th Century by the monks of Glastonbury Abbey and was used as a resting place by pilgrims before reaching their final destination. The house eventually fell into disrepair in the mid 1900s when it was put on the English Heritage's Buildings at Risk register. We bought the property three years ago and have worked in conjunction with English Hertitage and the local council to restore the building to its former glory.

Old Farm enjoys a beautifully tranquil location, well away from any roads and with plenty of excellent local walks. Visitors can now experience the house as it was meant to be, a place for rest and relaxation. Old Farm is made up of several properties all dating back to the 14th Century and two of these are available as self catering holiday accommodation. All guests are free to enjoy the gardens and amenities of the farm and we have two ponds, fields, outside furniture, barabecues and games for the use of visitors. The farm is also home to a group of ducks, chickens, dogs, cats, sheep and donkeys - always a hit with our younger visitors!

Rooms Description

The Cottage is a detached self contained property with four bedrooms. The large kitchen breakfast room is home to a four oven Aga, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave and American style fridge freezer. The sitting room has French doors to the garden and Freesat TV, iPod docking station and DVD player. The Cider House is a two bedroom converted barn with a kitchen and dining area for 6 and a sink, fridge, hob and microwave. The living area is complete with comfortable sofas, TV, DVD, iPod dock and sofa bed for additional guests. There is also a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.
