Although we are perfectly situated in a peaceful country location, we are within one mile of Wells, the smallest city in England. You can either walk or cycle along the old Somerset and Dorset railway line or walk across the fields along a scenic path, with magical views of the Somerset Levels and Glastonbury Tor. The mediaeval city of Wells with its' 800 year old Cathedral, Bishops Palace and the Vicars Close (reputedly the oldest complete street in Europe), has a wealth of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes. If you visit the Bishops Palace in the afternoon you may be lucky enough to catch the swans on the moat ringing the bell for their tea! The 13th century Palace and grounds are open to the public and here you can see the wells spring from which the citys' name is derived. If you fancy venturing further visit the nearby city of Bath, Glastonbury, and the Mendips.
