Lawn Cottage offers self catering accommodation on the Somerset Levels with views to Glastonbury Tor. The property is perfect for couples visiting the area for a romantic break, or small families, single parent families, businessmen or women or friends holidaying together. Situated on a country lane on the edge of the small village of Godney, it is within easy reach of Glastonbury and Wells as well as all of Somerset's other attractions. Originally a Victorian farm hayloft at the foot of the Vicarage lawns, the building was more recently converted into two dwellings retaining a wealth of traditional features:- old doors, a brick fireplace, exposed beams and flagstone flooring in the kitchen and conservatory.

The cottage is ideal for walkers, cyclists, bird watchers or sightseers. Bikes can be hired in Glastonbury and the flat terrain is ideal for the leisure cyclist and the area is well served by National Cycle Networks. The area is rich in wildlife with wetlands and conservation areas a-plenty. Why not visit Longleat, Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge, Wells Cathedral, Bristol or Bath. Ample local visitor information is available for your convenience.

Rooms Description

Lawn cottage offers a modern kitchen with electric oven, fridge, dishwasher and microwave, a conservatory with lovely views in th summer, a lounge with flatscreen television and DVD player, electric 'woodburning' effect stove and views to Glastonbury Tor. Upstairs there is one double and one single bedroom and a shower room. Please note this is an old property and there is a steep, winding staircase, which may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility. **Please click on the 'photos' tab for more pics!**

Specialities

Cottage is slightly quirky in nature - a Victorian structure with modern appliances for your convenience. Guests are left a small welcome basket of beverages for their arrival. Well behaved dogs are welcome, there is an additional charge of £10. Feel free to bring a travel cot or airbed if you have two young children. There is off road (verge) parking for 1 or 2 cars. Please note that there is no garden attached to the property but it is surrounded by miles of country walks suitable for dogs. There is small public childrens playground at the other end of the village, approx 2 miles away. (A larger one in Glastonbury) We can provide shopping, champagne, chocolates etc for your arrival - please ask for costs. The tarrif includes all linen, duvets, towels, etc and heating and electricty. There are no street lights in the village, which many consider to be a real feature - this is real Somerset countryside, complete with passing tractors!
