The Piggeries offers delightful and unique self catering accommodation for two in the heart of Wells. This rustic and charming property nestles right next door to the famous cathedral and is part of an early medieval house, left unused in the 17th Century. Just one minute walk to the Cathedral and Vicar's Close, the oldest surviving medieval street in Europe! The Piggeries also makes an excellent base for touring the Mendips (Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves), the Quantocks, the Levels, a number of National Trust houses, and other hidden parts of Somerset.

Step back in time. The Piggeries are authentic, rustic and quirky, in a unique situation. You can sit on the patio and hear the choir and the organ in the Cathedral next door. In the garden are free range chickens. And there is a superb view in one direction of the East End of Wells Cathedral, literally a few feet away, and in the other direction of Tor Woods (National Trust). Wells is England’s smallest city, outstanding for the beauty of its setting, and for its extraordinary heritage of historic buildings, water features, gardens and open spaces. Wells has a largely unspoiled medieval urban landscape, and is a precious treasure to be cherished and cared for by visitors and residents alike.

The Piggeries Accommodation comprises: White-washed walls of rubble stone, old beams, and pantiled roof. Quiet and secluded, behind a 10ft wall, close to the ancient springs. Main living area 21ft (6.3m) by 8ft (2.4m), comprising at one end a well-equipped kitchen with gas cooker, microwave, fridge etc; the other end being comfortable with chairs, table, TV, radio and sofa-bed. Bedroom, 8ft (2.4m) by 9ft (2.7m), with 4ft 6” (1.35m) double bed. Bathroom with cast iron bath, hand-held shower, wash-basin and WC. Gas central heating. Washing machine. Broadband Internet access at no extra charge. Small south-facing patio area of the large adjoining garden, with chairs, table and sun umbrella. Separate self-contained access via mediaeval stone doorway. Own parking in the garden (invaluable in the centre of Wells!). Welcome pack on arrival.
