Bristol City International Airport

Bristol International Airport is the only airport in the Somerset region at the moment. It has grown over the years and now offers a good selection of both domestic and international flights serving the whole of the South West of England and Wales. It is a compact airport but has all the facilities you'd expect including on-site parking, bars, cafes and restaurants and of course a good range of shops.

It is south of the city centre in the Somerset countryside. Access is easy as it lies just off the A38 and there is a range of guest houses and bed and breakfast accommodation nearby. Failing that, there are good transport links from Bristol City Centre itself with a shuttle service linking the main bus station and Temple Meads rail station in Bristol to the airport.

A range of scheduled flights operate from the airport including domestic flights to Jersey, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Newquay, Plymouth, Aberdeen and the Isle of Man. Flights to Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, the Balearic Islands and Malta are also amongst regular scheduled flights. There is also a good choice of chartered flights available. If travelling by car it can be quicker to reach it via the M5 rather than having to go through the city centre. Temple Meads Railway Station is the nearest to the airport which is in the city centre itself. Virgin Trains and First Great Western run services to Temple Meads. The Bristol International Flyer is an express link shuttle bus between Temple Meads Railway Station in the city centre and the airport. Buses are numbered 330 and 331. It takes around thirty minutes and operates between 2.30am and 11.45 pm. You can book through tickets from Trainline.com or First Great Western or Virgin, links right. National Express coaches also run services to Bristol Airport from all over the South West and Wales and again the International Flyer takes you on from the bus station to the airport.

For refreshments there is a good choice of coffee bars, cafes and restaurants and fast food take aways, some of which are open 24 hours a day. There are also shops where you can buy goods at duty free prices in the shops as well as the usual chemists and stationers. Check out the Bristol International website for a wealth of further information on the airport, parking and arrivals and departures.
